As a Finishing Ambassador, Flexa works closely with Canon to integrate its cutting and unwinding/rewinding systems with the Canon Colorado roll-to-roll printer, offering automated workflows that enhance productivity, precision, and efficiency across multiple printed applications.
Leveraging Canon's UVgel printing technology, the collaboration delivers versatile, fully automated solutions for wallpaper, self-adhesive vinyl, and a wide range of flexible materials.
Seamless in-line cutting for wallpaper production
Continuous workflow with Canon Colorado and Miura Katana
A key highlight of the partnership is the in-line system combining the Canon Colorado with the Flexa Miura Katana automatic XY cutter.
It is possible to use the UD170 unwinder for jumbo rolls upstream of the Canon Colorado printer, making it ideal for long, uninterrupted production runs and increasing overall production autonomy.
Perfectly aligned panels with zero white edges
This configuration enables fully automatic wallpaper cutting directly from the printer output — ensuring perfectly aligned panels, eliminating visible white edges, and removing the need for manual touch-ups.
Ideal for a seamless, ready-to-install wallpaper production workflow, with consistent precision and significantly reduced operator intervention.
Efficient unwinding and rewinding for flexible materials
Flexa also provides the UD170 and RD170 unwinding and rewinding system for jumbo rolls, designed specifically to integrate with the Canon Colorado.
These units guarantee consistent accuracy thanks to their automatic vertical alignment — a unique feature on the market — and operate without requiring continuous operator supervision, ensuring superior finishing solutions and smooth material handling.
